Ithaca Lake II

The mood in this painting is different from the one I posted earlier. It is all cloudy and dark. Not many colours needed for this rather gloomy atmosphere. I used Artists Watercolour Paper from W&N. I do such things for fun.

Some from the past

There are some of the paintings from the yester years!

Lake near Ithaca

I painted today from a photo taken in Ithaca, NY, last year of the lake near Taughannock Falls. Here is the photo:

The painting is here, made on Langton 300gsm NOT paper 16"x12".

Gondolas of Venice

This is a typical Venetian scenery with the gondolas, any painter's dream. It is done on a 28" x 20" scale Montval 300gms NOT paper. I hope it has the atmosphere and the mood rightly captured!

This painting of a Swiss landscape with the alps at the background and a cottage in the middle distance and a flower field in the background has got all the elements of a typical Swiss scenery.
The reference photo I used was taken in the year 2000 when we visited that beautiful country in the month of April. Here is the painting. The fence in the foreground somewhat obstructs the viewer's eye, so I may remove it if and when I redo this painting again sometime later!

Scottish Cottage II

I made another painting of the same subject, a little bigger, I used the best paper I have and the colors really shine. I like redoing the same subject over and over again, trying to perfect the design, composition and leaving out some errors in perspective, etc, if any. Have a look!

Painting I did last week-Scottish Cottage

This painting was inspired by a photo taken by me when we were visiting Scotland last November, with our son Sricharan and his friend Aaron. It was a small village where the bus stopped for lunch with a few restaurants around. This is a photo of the painting, after it was edited for painting.

Here is the painting!
